Study Room Our quiet study room on the 2nd floor became the set for STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI, a stimulating and thought provoking new play written and performed by one of Britain’s most exciting young talents Drew Caiden and directed by Peter Bull.
Strawberry Daiquiri explores the realms of relationships and ambiguity as seen through the eyes of a man who has come to re-enter the life of the “woman” he once loved. A kaleidoscope journey through gender identity, confusion and manipulation, Strawberry Daiquiri is a mystery waiting to unfold.

Saturday 27 October 2007
This drama was produced by CETTIE and funded by Westminster Arts, and was performed by Victor Romero Evans, Halima Bryan, Melanie Charles and Shango Baku. It celebrated the lives of Ignatius Sancho and Olaudah Equiano who were African abolitionists who worked and lived in 18th century Westminster. Though very different in lifestyle and background they were linked by a horrific trade that brought them to Britain in the service of their ‘owners’. They both achieved freedom in their lifetime, and left written testimony of their personal histories.
This event also took place earlier on at the Westminster Archives Centre.
Thursday 4 October 2007
Project Adorno; a beat-poetry and cabaret double act employing voice, a few props and occasional acoustic guitar, and Lance Pierson; an actor and professional poetry performer who aims to take published poetry off the page and bring it to life, combined to provide an evening of poetry, cabaret, music and second hand books.
Tuesday 2 October 2007
In Westminster Reference Library's second floor reading room BBC radio veteran Alan Scott presented an enjoyable afternoon of nostalgia, with recordings and anecdotes of the radio and stage stars of the past. Reminding those in attendance of the days when Denis Norden and Frank Muir ruled the radio waves.
Monday 23 July 2007
Famed film maker Alfred Hitchcock was discussed on the first floor in the performing arts section of Westminster reference library.
Thursday 19 July 2007
The aptly named Mr Hudson & the Library provided some excellent entertainment in front of a sellout crowd on the Ground Floor of Westminster Reference library. James was one of those lucky enough to attend, and seemed thoroughly impressed...
"On Thursday 19th July live music truly arrived in Westminster Libraries. An audience numbering over a hundred was treated to a blend of rock, soul and reggae in the shape of Mr Hudson and the Library. The band, having already undertaken a tour of UK libraries, seemed perfectly at home belting out crowd-pleasing tunes in the normally hushed surroundings of Westminster Reference Library. Many congratulations to Rosella for organising such a successful event."
