Starting school is one of the most important times in your child's life. Deciding which primary or early years' class you want to send your child to is an important decision.
Westminster primary schools perform above the national levels in the key stage tests and pupils make more progress than the national average. You can be sure that by attending a primary or early years' class in Westminster, your child will receive an excellent education and also develop physical, emotional and social skills.
Full details about Westminster primary schools and how to apply for a school place are contained within the Westminster primary school admissions brochure, Westminster - your choice for primary education. Copies are available from the Admissions Team or you can download an electronic copy here.
Westminster introduced coordinated admission arrangements in 2005 to make it easier for parents to apply to primary schools of their choice, and increase the number of children being offered a reception place at a school of their preference in the initial offer round.
You must complete the Westminster Common Application Form to apply for reception class places at any Westminster primary school. The closing date for applications (1st March) has now passed but if you have just moved into the area or missed the closing date for another reason you can still apply by downloading a form or contacting the Admissions Team for a paper form. On this form, you can express up to six preferences for Westminster primary schools in order of preference. The council will coordinate the admissions process to ensure that no child receives more than one offer of a place at a Westminster primary school. It is therefore very important that you put your school preferences in the right order.
Please note that most voluntary aided schools have an additional supplementary form to complete which are available from the schools direct. The schools in Westminster that require the completion of a supplementary form are listed here.
If you wish to apply for a nursery place at any school, then you will need to contact the school direct.
