Church Street Library is improving!

Work to improve Church Street Library began in January 2009. Whilst this major refurbishment is in progress a temporary library is available close by at 97-99 Church Street where it will remain until the work is complete. Opening times remain the same. Contact the library directly to check on the status of regular events.

Church Street Library is a bustling community library well used by the local residents.

There is a very active children's library, used by the local children both for leisure and for studies, including activities for the Under 5s, homework clubs, a children's reading group and events during the school holidays.

The library also holds a monthly Readers' Group and several regular groups:

• Bengali Women's reading and writing group (Fridays)
• ESOL basic literacy class (Mondays & Wednesdays)
• English with IT (Thursdays)
• A knitting group (Saturdays)
• Keeping Up With The Kids: helping children with homework (Thursdays in term time)
