New Pimlico Library

The new Pimlico Library, at Pimlico Academy, will be opening at 10am on Wednesday 8 September. The old library closed on Sunday 29 August.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the short closure period. Members can continue to use any Westminster Library, including for borrowing & returning books. The two nearest to Pimlico are Victoria and St James's. You can read about the progress toward the opening of the new library on the Books & the City blog.

Pimlico Library is a ‘dual purpose’ library, serving both the general public and Pimlico Academy.

It has approximately double the floor space of old Pimlico Library in Rampayne Street. There is also increased book stock, increased IT facilities and longer opening hours. Westminster Adult Education also occupies the site, with an exciting new learning facility with 8 high-tech new teaching rooms.

The library runs a regular Reading Group. Find out about other facilities available in the library.

The children's library holds regular sessions for Under 5s as well as activities for children during holiday periods. There is also a term-time homework club.

You can find up-to-date information on any events taking place in the library by visiting the News section.
