This is the complete list of electronic reference resources available to members of Westminster Libraries.

Most of these resources are online, with a few on CD-ROM.

The list

Adult Directions Online - Careers service matching your stated work interests and preferences to suitable careers and occupations. Users must first register in a Westminster library , where they will be issued with a username and password for use with the system.

Ancestry - gives access to key records for family history research, including 1841-1901 census; birth, marriage and death records; street directories, telephone directories, school and military lists (available in all libraries).

Art Abstracts/Art Full Text - is a bibliographic database including periodicals, yearbooks, and museum bulletins. As well as articles, reproductions of works of art that appear in cited periodicals are indexed (available at Westminster Reference Library).

Art Index Retrospective - provides full abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, exhibition catalogs, PhD dissertations, and exhibition reviews on all forms of modern and contemporary art (available at Westminster Reference Library). More...

Broadcast - online version/database of the magazine for the UK Television and Radio industry (available at Westminster Reference Library).

Cans Advice Notes - user-friendly summary of the laws of England, Wales and Scotland [About CANS]

Careerscape - provides information on education, training and the world of work, with detailed information on over 1,800 career titles and 50,000 UCAS courses (available at Marylebone Information Service).

Cobra - business reference adviser, including business opportunity profiles, markets, financial and legal information [About Cobra]

Contemporary Authors - biographical and bibliographical information on 100,000+ modern authors [About Contemporary Authors]

Credo Reference - wide range of high quality reference books, searchable through a common interface [About Credo Reference]

Current Archaeology - the home pages of Current Archaeology and of its sister magazine, Current World Archaeology (available at Marylebone Information Service).

Design & Applied Arts Index - covers a variety of subjects and is the leading source of abstracts and bibliographic records for articles, news items, and reviews published in design and applied arts periodicals from 1973 onwards (available at Westminster Reference Library).

The Economist - fully searchable complete facsimile edition of The Economist, the weekly paper covering politics, current affairs, business and trade.

Euromoney - provides up-to-date financial, market, business and banking information/articles (available at Westminster Reference Library).

Encyclopaedia Britannica - famous encyclopaedia with links to evaluated websites, a dictionary, and national statistical profiles, with students' and children's editions [About Encyclopaedia Britannica]

Experian - a new database containing in-depth company information similar to Fame. Again including accounts, locations, directors, shareholders and products/services provided (available at Westminster Reference Library).

First Steps - Aimed at absolute beginners, First Steps will hold your hand through a tour of the Personal Computer, from using a mouse, through understanding the keyboard, to installing new software and upgrading hardware.

Gale Virtual Reference Library - Over 120 eBooks on Arts, Humanities and Sciences. [About Gale Virtual Reference Library]

GRANTfinder - lists nearly 4,000 funding opportunities: grants, tax breaks, loans, and awards, covering almost every sector, from the UK and EU (available at Westminster Reference Library) [About Grantfinder]

The Guardian & The Observer - searchable facsimile archive of The Guardian and The Observer from 1791 to 2003. (Note that the default date format is mm/dd/yyyy.)

Infotrac Custom Journals - 50 specialist and trade journals. You can search any one, or across the whole range [About Infotrac Custom Journals]

Integrated Tariff (Revenue & Customs) - provides information on taxes payable to UK customs upon import/export of goods (available at Westminster Reference Library).

Issues Online - aimed primarily at students wishing to gain a better understanding of the world around them and the issues which affect their lives, but useful to anyone researching social issues.

Library Press Display - newspapers from around the world, online before the print edition.

Moneyfacts - comparative guides to financial products including mortgages, savings, investments and credit cards (available at Marylebone Information Service).

Music and Performing Arts Online - combines the "International Index to Music Periodicals" and the "International Index to the Performing Arts" (available in all libraries).

Music Reference Online - music reference resources from Alexander Street Press, including Classical, African American and World music, plus a scores library [About Music Reference Online]

Naxos Music Library - listen to over 26,000 CDs from Naxos and other labels. Classical, jazz, nostalgia, world and pop. Read sleeve notes, glossaries and fun stuff [About Naxos]

Nexis - business information from Butterworths; the creators of Lexis Nexis its legal equivalent. (available at Westminster Reference Library).

NewsUK Huge searchable archive of national & regional newspapers and magazines [About NewsUK]

OECD Economic Outlook, Surveys & Indicators - Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development provides analysis of the world's economies looking at a variety of issues (this resource is in conjunction with the OECD collection at Westminster Reference Library).

Oxford Art - combines Grove Art with its 45,000 articles with the Oxford Companion to Western Art, the Encyclopaedia of Aesthetics and the Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms.

Oxford English Dictionary - the most extensive dictionary of the English language and its origins (Outside a Westminster library, click here). [About OED]

Oxford Islamic Studies - find out more about Islam and the Qur'an from over 3000 articles from dedicated scholars.

Snapshots - a large selection of useful market reports on a variety of industries. Their acquisition by rivals Mintel is likely to make them even more highly regarded (available at Westminster Reference Library).

Statesman's Yearbook - reliable and concise information on every country in the world, including history, politics, economics and trade (available at Westminster Reference Library & Marylebone Information Service)

Surveyor Magazine - an online database of the magazine that covers subjects related to local government such as transport, planning, waste and the environment (available at Westminster Reference Library).

The Times Digital Archive - fully searchable facsimile edition of the Times covering 1785-1985.

Times Literary Supplement - articles from every issue of the TLS from 1994, added to the Archive two weeks after print publication (available at Westminster Reference Library & Marylebone Information Service)

Tips and Advice - selection of useful sites and software, with practical user tips on using the Internet (available at Marylebone Information Service).

UK Press Online - fully-searchable facsimiles of the Daily Mirror from 1903 to the current issue. Also Daily & Sunday Express and Daily Star.

Which Extra - test results and recommendations for 1000s of products and services, and 450 advice guides (available at Maida Vale, Marylebone Information Service, Mayfair, St John's Wood & Westminster Reference Library).

Which Local - forum for Which? readers to recommend service providers that they have experience of using in their local area (available at Marylebone Information Service)

Who's Who & Who Was Who - directory of the noteworthy and influential, plus Who Was Who: 100,000+ entries from the archives of Who's Who dating back to 1898.
