Public consultation on the Western Extension

On 21 June 2005 at the City Council's Maida Vale Area Forum, the proposed western extension of the congestion charging scheme was discussed as an agenda item. Members of the City Council, including Councillor Danny Chalkley Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Transport, officers of the City Council and representatives from Transport for London attended to address the concerns of residents and local interest groups. Following this meeting, the City Council wrote to Transport for London to seek clarification of outstanding issues that were raised at the Forum. On 27th November 2008 the Mayor of London made known his plans to revoke the Western extension of the Congestion Zone.
