Data Protection

The council processes personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulations 2016 [GDPR] and Data Protection Act 2018. We are collecting your contact details to allow us to make arrangements to clear the flat of personal belongings and to ensure that a Notice to Quit is correctly served on the next of kin. We will maintain your information until we are able to legally terminate the tenancy of the deceased. We normally terminate a tenancy within 28 days of serving the Notice to Quit following a notification of death. However, due to the impact of the Coronavirus this process may take slightly longer.

Read our data protection notice to learn about how the council complies with data protection laws when processing your data.
