Antidote – LGBTQ+ drug and alcohol support service

About the service

Antidote is the UK’s only LGBTQ+ run and targeted drug and alcohol support service. Set up in 2002, the team works with both drug and alcohol users and healthcare professionals. Antidote gives non-judgemental, free advice and support delivered by highly trained staff and volunteers – all of whom identify as LGBTQ+ and who have a good understanding of the pressures and problems that come with recreational drug or alcohol use.

Antidote offers:

  • key working to address immediate drug, alcohol and chemsex support needs
  • group work (Chemcheck, SWAP, Reclaim)and relapse prevention support
  • sober social activities
  • referral to detox clinics and prescribing centres
  • referral to our counselling service
  • two weekly drop-ins to discuss substance use issues, sexual health and mental health
  • an intensive, structured weekday programme (SWAP)
  • training and support for healthcare professionals
  • women workers are available across the service.

Drop in

Monday Drop-In at London Friend
Every Monday between 11am to 1pm (Step-free access) on 86 Caledonian Road, London N1 9DN.

Thursday Drop-in at Turning Point Soho
Every Thursday between 6pm to 8pm (No step-free access) at Turning Point, 32a Wardour Street, London W1D 6AQ.
