Perinatal and infant mental health specialist health visitors provide support for families experiencing mental health difficulties in the perinatal period, offering direct specialist clinical interventions and referring to other services as appropriate.

How to access the service

Staff at the Family Hubs, the family's Health Visitor GPs and other members of the health visiting team can make direct referrals.

Local families are often seen at home or in Family Hubs.

Specialist health visitors in perinatal and infant mental health are available Tuesday to Friday.
