Community Participation Charter
Introducing Westminster’s Community Participation Charter.
Our Community Charter outlines our shared principles, guidelines, and expectations for meaningful participation, engagement, and decision-making with Westminster's communities.
This charter forms part of the commitments in the Fairer Westminster Delivery Plan to build a Fairer Westminster that supports and celebrates its communities, led by a council that combines social justice with efficient services.
The charter holds us accountable and will ensure that we are resident-led in our approach, delivering high standards in working with our communities to shape our services.
We have been working with residents to design this charter and consulted with our council services, which are all committed to fulfilling these promises to residents.
Through this charter, we hope to enhance the resident experience by ensuring equity, fairness, and inclusion are at the core of our service delivery. Our goal is to place residents at the heart of our decision-making processes.
To develop the Community Participation Charter, we listened to residents who shared with us their key priorities; this led to the themes:
Transparency
- Accessibility
- Empathy
- Inclusivity
- Accountability
Implementing the charter
We are working to improve how we deliver services, with these promises at the heart of our work. We will regularly review our performance against the charter and let you know how we are doing on an annual basis.
