Animal warden service
The animal warden service deals with all requests about stray dogs, collections, claiming your dog, kennelling, and rehoming.
Our animal warden service provides a collection, kennelling and rehoming service to support stray or lost dogs and sometimes other animals. Our wardens do not have the power to seize dogs, but they will support other agencies, such as the Police and the RSPCA, when requested.
The service operates a 24-hour stray dog collection service. We aim to collect dogs within three hours, but this may take longer during late and unsociable hours.
Any stray dogs collected will be scanned for a microchip in order to return the owner’s lost pet. Dogs that cannot be repatriated will be kennelled for a statutory seven-day period. A lost dog report will be put onto a website shared with other animal shelters, such as Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. If no one claims the dog, it will be rehomed.
If your dog does stray and we have to collect it, there will be a fee. Please the how to claim my dog.
