The wedding venue of Ringo Starr, Cilla Black, Liam Gallagher, and Sir Paul McCartney will celebrate its 100-year anniversary on 1 October 2024. To mark the occasion, Old Marylebone Town Hall is offering 100 lucky couples the opportunity to get married or form a civil partnership at the famous venue for £100, a tenth of the average fee.

Applications for ceremonies are open now for people who live, work or study in Westminster, until the 1 December, when they will open for anyone to apply. Wedding and civil partnership services on the day will start from 8am until 10.30pm, and all 75 staff members at the Hall will work to deliver seven ceremonies an hour for couples with up to eight guests.

The Old Marylebone Town Hall has been celebrating extraordinary love stories for generations. Since its doors opened in 1924, over 125,000 couples have joined in matrimony, civil partnerships and for renewal of vows.

Charlotte and Ellen who got married at Old Marylebone Town Hall in September 2023 said:

Whilst we knew The Old Marylebone Town Hall was a stunning building with beautiful rooms, we had no idea that we would be so well looked after and so much care taken over the ceremony. The registrars and staff made it such a lovely and individual occasion - it made our day even more amazing than we thought it possibly could be.”

The venue reopened in 2018 after an extensive four-year refurbishment and is known as one of the busiest wedding locations in the country, holding approximately 2500 ceremonies a year.

Alison Cathcart, Superintendent Registrar for Westminster - 1991 to 2019, shared 100 words for 100 years:

I’m delighted we are celebrating 100 years of ceremonies at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall – a beautiful venue that has hosted 1000s of weddings, not only for Westminster residents, but for loving couples from all over the world!

For more than 30 of those years I have been so proud and privileged to be involved in many magical moments in this venue to the stars. A recent refurbishment brought the Town Hall back to its former glory and in my humble opinion it is an unrivalled location in which to be married in the whole of the United Kingdom.”

Cllr Tim Roca, Cabinet Member for Young People, Learning and Culture said:

We’re so lucky to be the custodians of one of Britain’s most illustrious and cherished wedding venues which has seen thousands celebrate their love for one another. The Old Marylebone Town Hall is a great monument of Westminster, and we are proud to be celebrating 100 years of its standing. I am excited to see 100 couples marry on 1 October and hope that we see lots of our local people at the Hall.”
