A new fitness concept called FORTIS will launch at Marshall Street Leisure Centre, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Westminster City Council, on Wednesday 22nd January. Speedflex ambassadors Alexandra Burke and Ben Shephard will be attending the event to share their love for this amazing workout with local residents.

FORTIS will offer the renowned Speedflex concept which delivers HIIT Without the Hurt. It’s an affordable, accessible and inclusive workout, where everyone from athletes to beginners can work-out together, in exactly the same class.

FORTIS is a 30-minute HIIT workout based around Speedflex’s unique personalised resistance concept, allowing every participant to train at their optimum level.  The studios also include FORTIS branded functional movement stations for an unlimited variety of workouts. The workout is combined with MYZONE to provide members with live heart rate data and feedback on their effort level.

Self-confessed HIIT fan, Alexandra Burke, is supporting the new FORTIS studio at Marshall Street Leisure Centre to showcase the power of HIIT workouts that are fun, effective and inclusive for all.

“Whether I’m going about my daily life, performing eight theatre shows a week or spending long hours in the recording studio, I know being fit and healthy is crucial for my body and an optimistic mind. My family sadly has a history of diabetes but through research I’ve found that consistent exercise can have a positive impact in reducing or even reversing the symptoms and problem altogether. I’m a huge fan of the Speedflex method because of the results it gives me and so I’m supporting Speedflex and Everyone Active’s goal to create a fun, inclusive workout programme for everyone in a beautiful environment. I’m living proof that this 30-minute HIIT workout will leave you feeling good without the normal aches and pains of the gym. Sign up for your free class today!”

Cllr Iain Bott, Westminster City Council Cabinet Member for Sports, Culture and Community said: “Working in partnership with Everyone Active, this is an exciting new fitness concept that is an amazing addition to the facilities available at Marshall Street. With our ActiveWestminster card, residents can enjoy discounts of up to 40% on FORTIS workout classes, as well as other activities available across all of our leisure centres.”

Everyone Active General Manager, Louise Williams said: “We can’t wait to unveil FORTIS to the local community. This is an exciting and engaging workout. What Everyone Active love about FORTIS is that everyone can train at their optimum level, regardless of age or ability, because of the technology of the Speedflex concept. We’re confident that our members will love it too and we look forward to welcoming lots of new and familiar faces to our launch.  There’s no better time than January to try out something new, particularly after the indulgences of Christmas and to have Alexandra Burke and Ben Shephard join us will certainly add some extra star quality to our studio.”

The launch event will run from 5:00pm-8:30pm. For more information and to book your free space visit www.everyoneactive.com/fortis
