New West End Company Occupier and Property Owner Business Improvement Districts successful ballot
Westminster City Council was appointed to hold a ballot for the proposed renewal and alternation of the New West End Company Occupier and Property Owner Business Improvement Districts.
Today it was announced that the proposed renewed and altered BIDs have been successful in their ballots. For the Occupier BID, 182 out of 183 votes were cast in favour with the majority of the business ratepayers in the proposed BID area who voted, voting in favour of the proposal, both by aggregate rateable value (99.7%) and total number (99.5%). For the Property Owner BID, 338 out of 350 votes were cast in favour with the majority of the business ratepayers in the proposed BID area who voted, voting in favour of the proposal, both by aggregate rateable value (98%) and total number (97%).
The renewal and alteration of the Business Improvement Districts for New West End Company will commence from 1 April 2021 – 31 March 2026. The City Council has a statutory duty to hold BID ballots for any BID proposals. The Occupier BID ballot opened on 17 February 2021 and closed on 17 March 2021. The Property Owner BID ballot opened on 18 February 2021 and closed on 18 March 2021. The BID ballots are administered separately but take place simultaneously. The Property Owner BID is dependent on the Occupier BID being voted in. A Property Owner BID cannot exist without an Occupier BID. Both successful results were declared on 19 March 2021.
