This week marks the anniversary of the tragic Westminster Bridge and New Palace Yard attack, which took place on 22nd March 2017.

On that day, a terrorist drove a car onto Westminster Bridge at 2.40 pm, killing four people and injuring more than 50 others before fatally attacking PC Keith Palmer outside New Palace Yard. The attack claimed the lives of Aysha Frade, Leslie Rhodes, and Keith Palmer from London, Andreea Cristea from Romania, and Kurt Cochran from the USA. Victims and survivors came from multiple countries around the world.

While the anniversary falls on Saturday 22nd March, survivors from this and other London attacks held their usual small and informal gathering on the bridge on Thursday. The event was a quiet occasion for reflection, with a few survivors meeting on the bridge before moving to a nearby café at the Supreme Court to reconnect. Flowers were placed quietly early on the morning of the 20th.

The gathering provided an opportunity for those affected to come together in remembrance and support, ensuring that the events of that day and those who were lost are never forgotten.
