Report sexual harassment, sexual assault or rape if it happens to you
If you have been a victim of sexual harassment, sexual assault or rape, there are different ways you can report it. We understand it can be difficult. It is important to remember sexual violence is a crime, no matter who commits it or where it happens. Don’t be afraid to get help.
If you experience sexual harassment:
- In an emergency, always dial 999
- Or alternatively contact 101 for the Police in a non-emergency
- You can report online
- Visit a police station, find your nearest station
- Call NHS 111 or get help from 111 online
- Find your nearest sexual assault referral centre
Support
There are lots of different support that is available to help you. Services provide confidential support.
The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line
Provides support to anyone over 16+ who has been affected by sexual violence.

Report sexual harassment as a witness
If you witness someone being sexually harassed or have information related to an incident don’t hesitate to call the following services if you feel it’s safe to do so.
- In an emergency always call 999
- you can give information, with a guarantee of anonymity through CrimeStoppers by calling 0800 555 111
If you have witnessed a crime in London you can access support from the London Victim and Witness Service (LVWS), call 0808 1689 291 or visit their website for more information.
Not only will you be helping the victim but many of those who commit offences and sexually harass others are repeat offenders. Your report assists the police in identifying and taking action against them which could lead to offenders being convicted and help prevent this from happening to others.
