Recycling Champions - register your interest
Become a Recycling Champion and help us increase recycling and sustainable behaviours in your local community. You don’t need any experience to get involved. You just need to be over 18 and willing to help inspire others to recycle more.
Are you a Westminster resident who’s passionate about recycling?
Westminster has a low recycling rate and we need your help to increase it. By becoming a Recycling Champion, you’ll help us to increase our recycling rate by encouraging others to recycle, and to recycle correctly.
This is a great way to meet people, learn new skills, and do something positive in your local area that helps the environment.
You’ll be able to learn more about recycling and waste reduction as the Recycling Team will provide lots of help and support, including:
- joint visits to recycling facilities to explain the issues around contamination
- regular newsletters
- champion meetings and socials
- a recycling information pack training and induction
As a volunteer, you can put in as much or as little time as you like. There are lots of activities you can get involved including:
- taking part in local events such as recycling information stands at libraries or community events
- attending exclusive workshops and recycling talks
- doing local bin assessments
- passing on the recycling message to friends and neighbours
