Online planning records
Our online planning records include details of planning applications dating from 1990 onwards. Note that online records between 1990 and May 2000 may only include decision notices.

Where documents are not included in the online records for applications determined before May 2000 or where you would like to view documents relating to scanned decision letters you will need to make a request to view these using our archived physical planning records service.
Viewing archived planning records
Many properties in Westminster have older planning records dating back to the 1940s or earlier. Most of our physical records are stored off-site. However, they can be scanned on request and made available for you to view remotely. If you wish to view these, please contact us using the request form below.
A fee is applicable for this service to cover the cost of identifying and scanning this information (see first line of the table below). Where files cover a number of volumes the price will increase and we will let you know of these additional charges.
Due to the nature of the material in the planning records, often coming from a number of different sources, there is no guarantee that the file will be complete or indexed in a date order format. As a result, researching these documents may take a lot of time and effort on your part to locate the information you need.
Once you have viewed the archived records you may wish to obtain copies of certain documents. These can be provided by email as PDFs. The fees for provision of documents from the archive are set out in the table below. Please note that we cannot provide specific documents from archive files without first scanning the whole archive planning records for a property (see first fee in table below).

Upon completion of your request, we will confirm the amount due. We will supply you with a unique reference number and the information you need to make a payment online.
