Prevent projects in the community
Many of the families and individuals who would most benefit most from Prevent projects are from our hardest to reach communities.
To effectively deliver our projects, we partner with local community organisations and groups.
Parenting programme
We have co-ordinated the delivery of a parenting programme based on the Race Equality Foundation’s Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities.
This programme seeks to aid parents in building stronger relationships with their children by developing their current parenting approaches and equipping them with new skills, tools and techniques to use within their homes.

Safer Streets, Better Lives Workshop
Safer Streets, Better Lives is a project intended to support some of Westminster’s most vulnerable young people. This pilot scheme of work will take a dual approach to safeguard participants through delivering activity intended to raise awareness of harms including:
radicalisation, gangs, criminality, and substance misuse that they may encounter, alongside bespoke 1-2-1 employment skills, cv and career development training.
Participants who complete the 12-week programme will receive a guaranteed employment/apprenticeship interview with a partner organisation of their preference. In addition, participants will receive ongoing support within their places of work.

Myths, Misconceptions & the Media Workshop
The Myths, Misconceptions & the Media workshop is a one-off workshop aimed at community members to build critical thinking skills by helping participants gain confidence, knowledge, and skills to understand how to assess, interpret and challenge information encountered online and offline.
The workshop will explore terms such as ‘conspiracy theory’, ‘fake news’, ‘media bias’ etc. The participants will gain a better understanding of how misinformation and harmful messaging can be used as a tool for radicalisation, polarisation, and exploitation.
