Rent Support Fund

In April 2023, we created a rent support fund to help tenants struggling with the increased cost of rent. Since rents will rise again in April 2025, we have set aside an additional £1m to continue this fund.

Westminster City Council's Rent Support Fund has been created specifically to help those in financial difficulty. The money will be used to cover some or all of the upcoming rent increases for households who are not entitled to full housing benefits. Tenants who are eligible for full benefits will receive an increase in their Housing Benefit or Universal Credit payments.

We will contact our residents who need support by text, phone, letters, and house calls. We will also reach out to faith networks, libraries, and schools to ensure the support message is received across the city.

The rent support fund is not a loan, and the fund is designed to assist you during these challenging times without any obligation for repayment.

If you need assistance, you can register your interest using the form below, and an income officer will contact you.
