Who are WE*
WE* is part of the Westminster Employment Service (WES) and supports adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities in finding paid or voluntary employment or work experience placements in a person-centred way. Individuals are supported to produce an accessible action plan to support their aspirations for employment.
Subsidised Employment Fund
The Subsidised Employment Fund is offered to employers based in Westminster to help create new jobs for Westminster adults with learning difficulties, who are neurodivergent, or whose physical disabilities act as a barrier to employment.
WE* will fund half the London Living Wage salary and 50% of National Insurance costs for up to 12 months, based on an eight or 16 hour working week.
Employers will be offered training, a support package of up to 13 weeks of job coaching, and ongoing advice and guidance.
We will:
- offer one-to-one support for those employed.
- coach and help your new employee learn their job quickly by providing on-the-job support.
- make sure your employee is working to the standard you expect.
- identify and suggest any reasonable adjustments that could be made
Who we are looking for
To be eligible for the fund, you must be a business that:
- wants to change people’s lives
- wants to gain a highly motivated employee without the recruitment costs
- wants to meet your CSR and Social Value objectives
- is interested in carving opportunities for our clients
- Has existing or no experience of working with neurodiverse people
- are a Disability Confident employer who wants to develop an inclusive workforce
- would like to work with a team of specialised advisers on hand
