Season 4, Episode 2 - Wendy Andrew of The Scottish Pet Bereavement Counselling Service
In this episode, Wendy Andrew speaks about how to support pet lovers who are experiencing loss.
Fifty-seven per cent of us in the UK have a pet. That amounts to 38 million of them. But often, when they pass away, the depth of the grief felt is not properly acknowledged by other people. Owners may be told, 'It's just a pet,' but, as Wendy says, a companion animal is never 'just anything'.
Books
- Wendy talks about her love of Agatha Christie, especially the Miss Marple books. And how she hugely enjoyed Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy.
- We also discussed her book: 'How To Recover From Pet Loss: Supporting You On Your Journey To Acceptance.'
