Easter service changes
Information about changes to council services over Easter 2025.
Report it
Our Report it service will continue to run as normal.
Contact Centre
All council offices will close from Friday 18 April and will re-open on Tuesday 22 April.
Our phone lines will be closed over the bank holiday, and the usual contact numbers will be available for emergency calls only.
The Housing Contact Centre will be closed on Friday 18 April and Monday, 21 April. It will resume normal operations on Tuesday, April 22. During those days, emergency repairs will be picked up out of hours.
Register office
The Westminster Registration Service will be closed from 4pm on Thursday, 17 April, and will re-open on Wednesday 23 April, at 9am.
If you request a priority certificate service on, or after 2pm on Thursday 17 it will not be processed until Wednesday 23 April.
Out of hours burials.
Our out of hours on call service is for the issue of burial certificates required for a funeral that is to take place within 24 hours. The service is available on Saturdays and Sundays between 9am and 10am and on Bank Holidays between 9am and 11am. Please contact us on 020 7641 1310 between these hours.

Parking
Please be aware of the parking controls that affect bank holidays and public holidays in Westminster.

Gas leaks
Gas leaks should be reported to the National Grid. This must be done as soon as you suspect there may be a gas-related problem.
Call the National Gas Emergency Service 24 hours a day on Freephone 0800 111 999.
Pharmacies
A number of local pharmacies will be open over Easter in Westminster and surrounding boroughs.
Local pharmacists are qualified healthcare professionals who can help you manage minor illnesses, offer confidential discussions in a consultation room with no need for an appointment, or refer you to a GP or A&E if your symptoms suggest it’s something more serious.
There may be additional pharmacies opening which are not listed. If the pharmacy you would like to visit is not listed here, then you can check their opening hours by searching the NHS’s ‘find a pharmacy’ site or by calling NHS 111.
