Inside Out grant programme

Information about applying for an Inside Out grant to take part in the festival, returning in August 2025.

Inside Out is a free and inclusive summer festival, produced by Westminster City Council and partners, that brings our city’s world-renowned arts, entertainment and culture into the streets and open spaces of Westminster for all to enjoy.

The programme showcases live performances, cultural walking tours, outdoor exhibitions, family workshops, sculpture trails, installations and pop-up activities in accessible outdoor locations. The Inside Out Festival won a National Campaign for the Arts ‘Hearts for the Arts’ award for Best Art Project.

While there is always a spotlight on the West End, we are keen for the festival to reach across the borough to reach our communities in wards to the north and south. Find full details of the August 2024 programme.

Our extraordinary cultural institutions and community organisations are, of course, central to the success of Inside Out. To encourage participation a dedicated grants programme is being launched again to support partner activities. This aims to ensure fairer and wider access to participation and council support.

What we're looking to fund

Applications are invited from those delivering cultural activities for residents and visitors to the City of Westminster. We welcome submissions from venues, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), agencies, artists, curators and performers.

Applicants can apply for funding between £1,000 and up to £10,000. Successful applicants will be required to sign a grant agreement with terms and conditions which includes a commitment to submitting a Project Monitoring Form four weeks after the project completes.

Proposed projects should take place in Westminster with clear benefit to our residents. Preference will be given to applicants based in the City of Westminster.

Grants will be allocated to ensure diverse and inclusive representation. All awards will be made subject to satisfactory credit checks and due diligence.
