In this illustrated talk our guest, the award-winning author Marc Blake, will presents his latest work, Spirit of the Blitz , a thriller for young adults set in one of the most fascinating and dangerous periods in London’s history.

Marc delves into the subterranean existence of thousands of Londoners during the 57-night London Blitz of 1940/41 and describes how they coped with wartime living conditions, particularly during the night-time raids. As if this were not dangerous enough, the young protagonist, Will, discovers something else to worry about, lurking in the dark tunnels of the Tube.

Due to health concerns, Renata had to self isolate for an extended period during the present pandemic, which put a stop to her self-organised theatre group meetings. Not letting this defeat her, she found new ways to keep playing.
