Criteria
Submissions are encouraged from those who:
- live or work in North Paddington, or who have strong connection with its cultural landscape
- bring professional experience from the creative industries and a desire to share this experience and perspective
- connect to the zone’s values and have an interest in shaping the direction and delivery of the programme.
- are curious about developing new knowledge, challenging perceptions and having their own perceptions challenged within a safe environment of questioning and debate
- want to represent the interest of peers, audiences and communities and ensure the zone is tuned into their aspirations and needs
- are excited about meeting creative professionals from other backgrounds and disciplines and collaborating with them
Areas of expertise
We are seeking to recruit representatives with the following background and expertise:
- education, in schools, further or higher education
- community engagement
- youth engagement
- cultural programming
- business support and development
- public art and commissioning
- cultural heritage, spaces or workspace
Representation
We want to ensure that the new advisory group represents the breadth of the communities we work with. If you are a leader of an organisation, we encourage you to consider who could act as a representative to best ensure diverse representation.
We are keen to encourage applications from those:
- who represent groups from lower socio-economic backgrounds
- from the Global Majority
- who have not had prior board or advisory experience
- with a disability
- who are neurodiverse
Decision making process
The selection panel will consist of our Creative Enterprise Manager and other relevant officers from within the council.
The selection will be based on the eligibility criteria as outlined above. The panel will also take expertise into consideration and ensure that a variety of viewpoints are being represented in the group.
