What is the Design Review Panel?
Our Design Review Panel provides an independent, expert design review service as an integral part of the planning process. It will help to ensure development across Westminster is of the highest, sustainable design quality and contributes to the achievement of our Fairer Westminster objectives - delivering more jobs, affordable homes and meeting our net zero targets.
The panel is not a substitute for the established internal capacity within our Planning teams. Instead, it provides complementary, independent multidisciplinary advice to inform the planning process. The panel brings a range of expertise to ensure a holistic approach to design which will be highly sustainable, inclusive and promote health and well-being. This will support applicants, officers, the planning committee and local communities in securing high quality, sustainable development.
