Get free advice on major applications
About the Community Planning Advice Service
In partnership with Planning Aid for London, we are running a pilot until February 2026 providing free planning advice service to anyone. This support is on offer to individuals, and those representing community groups or businesses, who are interested in commenting on a current major planning application.
The service is designed to:
- help people better to understand proposed developments and their potential impacts,
- guide them on what planning policies and legislation are relevant and,
- support them to make their comments.
How to request advice
For further information on the service and to request free planning advice, please visit the Community Planning Advice Service website.
What is a major application?
The service is only available commenting on major applications. Major applications are those applications that proposed 10 or more residential units and/or 1,000m2 of new floorspace.
The Community Planning Advice website includes a map based overview of all current major planning applications to help you identify the location of each application.
