Project update

Project AB107 York Mansions – Cancelled.

Due to a change in Fire Safety regulations, Building Control has advised that the material asphalt no longer meets regulatory requirements and, therefore, this cannot be used to resurface the balconies.

Together with the Service Provider United Living, we have been trying to source an alternative material to asphalt that is Fire Safety compliant and is approved by Building Control and have been unsuccessful.

13/2/24 - A resident meeting was held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, and it was agreed that as the balconies are not leaking and no repair issues have been reported, the balcony resurfacing work is to be included in the next programme of major works at York Mansions, scheduled for 2028/2029.

Westminster City Council’s Fire Safety Team will undertake the second element of the project, repairing/replacing the fire door. Project AB107 is now cancelled.
