The Business Community Partnerships (BCP) programme works with responsible businesses in the borough and encourages them to come together and work in partnership to support our local community through their Corporate Responsibility and Social Value agendas.

We encourage community involvement activities by developing innovative ways for businesses to provide support to help meet the needs of the community and make a real difference. Through our collaborative partnerships with the private, public, and voluntary sectors we are tackling key issues that affect those people who live, learn and work in Westminster.

Since its creation, the programme has gone from strength to strength and we now have an active membership of more than 200 responsible businesses in Westminster, which represent Great Estates, Commercial Landlords, FTSE 100 companies, Developers, and the council’s supply chain.

Our role is to help facilitate beneficial and meaningful relationships for both our businesses and Volunteer Community Sector (VCS) partners. We take time to understand the needs and requirements of our community partners and to identify suitable projects. We then match their needs to the resources of local businesses that can support them, or we promote a project through our extensive business network to find solutions. By encouraging businesses to support vital projects we can help them to be valued and engaged in their communities.

In addition, we can also help businesses to develop their CSR policies and Social Value strategies and by putting into practice agreed aims and objectives businesses can instantly profit from establishing a CSR agenda. We can provide opportunities to help projects, offer support, time and expertise whilst giving staff the opportunity to develop their skills whilst benefitting the community.
