Proposed amalgamation of Our Lady of Dolours and St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary Schools
The proposal is to amalgamate Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Primary School and St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary School as a one form entry Catholic primary school on the St Mary of the Angels school site from 1st September 2025. No pupils will be displaced as there will be a guaranteed place for pupils on the roll of both schools at the amalgamated school.

Please note that a previous version of the Statutory Proposal had an error, which has now been corrected.
In 'Section 10 - Special Educational Needs provision', the previous version gave the wrong number of pupils with special educational needs at St Mary of the Angels.
This has been corrected to read "there are 44 pupils on roll at St Mary of the Angels who have been identified as having special educational needs, 5 of whom are in receipt of an Education Health and Care Plan."

Responses must be received by 5pm on Thursday 22 May 2025 when this statutory notice and the representation period are due to expire. All responses received during the representation period will be fully considered by the Local Authority at the end of May. A final decision will then be made by the Local Authority in June on whether to implement the school amalgamation proposal or not with effect from 1 September 2025.
