Rent Support Fund
We’ve launched a new Rent Support Fund for April 2025 to March 2026 to help Westminster council tenants affected by the upcoming rent increase. An additional £1 million has been added to the fund to ensure we can continue supporting those who need it most.
Westminster City Council’s Rent Support Fund is here to help Westminster council tenants who may struggle with rising rent costs. If you don’t receive full Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, you could get help covering some or all of your rent increase through this fund. If you already receive full Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, you don’t need to apply as your rent increase will be covered automatically. This support is designed to ease the pressure on households during a time of rising living costs and ensure that no one falls behind because of rent.

Council tenants struggling financially and at risk of getting into arrears should contact the income services team on 0800 358 3783 (option 1, then option 2) from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday to discuss the help available. Our friendly team is here to help you.
