Public health training
We would like your community-based offer to encourage building healthy, sustainable habits in resident’s regular routines.
All funded organisations will be required to develop a public health training action plan and implement it with additional funding available. This will enable your organisation to support us in delivering public health outcomes such as motivating participants to stop smoking, supporting participants with their mental health or encouraging participants to increase their physical activity.
We will work in partnership with you to develop this action plan and deliver relevant training and development opportunities.
As an example, training is available from the Royal Society of Public Health, Change4Life, Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Westminster Kingsway College, Westminster Adult Education Service and others, including (but not limited to):
- becoming a Health Champion
- supporting smoking cessation
- working with individuals with learning disabilities
- understanding mental wellbeing
- encouraging a healthy weight and healthy eating
- Change4Life training, including training to deliver cooking classes
- making every contact count
- Becoming a Community Activator Coach
We want to ensure the training is as relevant and useful to your organisation as possible, so please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your organisation’s requirements.
