Homelessness

How we help people who are or are at risk of becoming homeless.

Tackling homelessness and rough sleeping is a key priority for the Council. We work to prevent homelessness, including through helping people stay in their current accommodation or find a new place to live.

Together with our charity partners, we also work around the clock to offer accommodation and support to people experiencing rough sleeping.

Find out more about the services we provide and how you can access support through these web pages

Westminster City Council has a range of legal duties to help people who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. Please see Shelter's guide to Local Authority Duties here for more information.

Homelessness and rough sleeping consultation

Westminster City Council has created a new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy which sets out our approach and commitments, as well as how we plan to get there.

This strategy has been created to focus on prevention, response and support. Informed by a robust review of homelessness in the borough, our strategy has been developed with our partners, those with lived experience of homelessness in Westminster, and a number of organisations and people who work in this space.

It is a statutory requirement we review homelessness and publish a strategy in response every five years.

We really want your feedback on this new strategy and our approach.

Visit the consultation and have your say.
