About the Community Gallery
Local arts and culture is celebrated on the ground floor mezzanine at the council’s main office building located at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP.
The gallery is open 10am to 5pm, seven days per week.
The programme is based on key events in the national and local calendar such as Black History Month, Lunar New Year and Mental Health Awareness Week.
The programme also creates opportunities for the council’s Arts and Archives collections to become more accessible to residents and visitors through exhibits and interpretation that will present both historical and contemporary narratives to tell the story of Westminster.
We seek out opportunities to collaborate with local arts and community organisations to develop the displays. The gallery provides a showcase to represent Westminster today as a vibrant, creative hub which celebrates diversity and inclusivity, alongside its rich local heritage.
Visiting the gallery and access
Westminster City Hall’s mezzanine gallery exhibitions are free and open for viewing from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday. For security reasons, currently visitors can access the exhibition only by appointment. To arrange a visit, please book in advance by emailing [email protected]
Please be sure to mention in the appointment and upon arrival that you are visiting the mezzanine gallery which is on the upper ground floor. A member of staff will come down to greet and accompany you while you are in the building.
The exhibits are displayed in a circulation area which can be busy and congested, so we recommend that you plan your visit at a non-rush hour time, avoiding the morning and lunchtime periods.
