Ending your sponsorship (leaving scheme) or moving to another sponsor (rematch)
If you are considering ending your sponsorship or moving to another sponsor, please get in touch with the Homes for Ukraine team as soon as possible to discuss your options.
Moving to another sponsor under 'rematching'
Please let us know if you have found another sponsor in Westminster or another borough. We must conduct the necessary checks before you can move to your new sponsor's home. Failing to follow this process could put you and your family at risk and affect your eligibility for Homes for Ukraine support.
If you have not already found a sponsor with whom you can be rematched, you can find a host either independently or through community organisations and charities.
Read the government guidance for a list of approved voluntary and community sector organisations that assist with matching people under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.
Alternatively, we may be able to help you find a new host. Please contact us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to help.
Leaving the scheme
If you decide to leave the scheme and move into your own accommodation, please inform the Ukraine Response Team so we can update our records. We may be able to assist with your transition. However, if you do not have accommodation arranged, we strongly encourage hosts and guests to maintain the sponsorship arrangement for as long as possible, as finding suitable housing in the current market can be challenging and stressful.
If you have any concerns or need support, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to make sure your sponsorship arrangement works well for you. If it doesn't, we will help you find other options. Leaving the scheme or your current sponsor will not affect any other support we offer or your access to public services.
