Notting Hill Carnival advice for Westminster residents

More information for Westminster residents about road closures, bins, ID and other changes over the carnival weekend.

Bike stands and hire bikes

Plan your carnival journey ahead of time, and check the TfL website for travel advice over the bank holiday weekend.

Dockless bikes and scooters 

Dockless hire schemes including both rental e-scooters and rental e-bikes will have temporary access and parking restrictions in place over the event footprint, please check TfL and the operator’s apps found on smartphones before you travel. 

Bike stand suspensions 

Some bicycle stands will be temporarily removed around the Notting Hill Carnival route. Signs will be attached to the stands 1 week in advance. Any bicycles still attached to the stands will be removed. 

All cycle stands will be replaced from Tuesday 27 August. 

The cycle stands at the following locations will be temporarily removed: 

Westbourne Grove  

  • Chepstow Place opposite side to Space NK Apothecary 
  • Chepstow Road opposite side to Rico Cafe 

Chepstow Road  

  • Junction with Westbourne Grove 
  • Outside the Prince Bonaparte Pub 

Talbot Road  

  • Outside the Prince Bonaparte Pub 
  • Outside of Shrewsbury Gardens 
  • Outside number 20-22 

Great Western Road  

  • Outside the Quiet Night Inn Pub, junction with Tavistock Road 

Westbourne Park Road 

  • Opposite Leamington Road Villas and Wessex Gardens Estate 

Elgin Avenue, Maida Hill 

  • Outside Sainsburys
