Safety zones and resident ID
Safety zones are areas around the event site that are closed to Notting Hill Carnival visitors. This is to help with crowd and emergency vehicle management.
Residents must carry ID to access their homes in these areas. Safety zones are cordoned off by barriers and staffed by the police or stewards, residents on foot must have ID showing their name and address if they need to enter a safety zone to access their home.
Resident safety zones are in place around:
- St Stephen’s Gardens (north and east)
- Bridstow Place
- Luke’s Mews
- Brunel Estate
Acceptable forms of ID are a:
- bank statement
- council tax statement
- utility bill
- driving licence
Access will only be granted to those residents living directly within each particular safety zone. Visitors will not be granted access to use safety zones as a thoroughfare.
Please see the resident leaflet for a map of the carnival route and safety zones
